Zena & Tim

When we visited Goa last year, we loved its laid-back pace, lush greenery, and our long days spent by the sea, devouring our favourites, from chilli paneer to butter garlic prawns. (You might be surprised to learn that Tim's favourite is the chilli paneer!) During that trip, we already knew that if we ever got married, Goa would be the perfect place to celebrate. More importantly, it felt like the ideal destination to bring together the people we love from around the world.
While Goa, with its coconut trees and sandy beaches, is a beautifully exotic place for Tim, Zena’s family roots trace back to the Konkan coast of Mangalore. The shared coastline, language, food, and traditions make Goa feel wonderfully familiar.

Goa has two airports: Dabolim (GOI) and Mopa (GOX), with our venue being closer to Dabolim. Taxis are readily available at both airports and are the main way to get around Goa, as public transport is limited. For convenience and reliability, we recommend arranging transport through your hotel.

• Visa — apply for an e-visa at indianvisaonline.gov.in and print a copy to carry for immigration
• Cash — most places accept digital payments, but carry some cash for smaller spots; Revolut works well in India
• Vaccines — check your government's travel health recommendations early, as some vaccines take time to become fully effective

Goa is known for its beaches, great food, and relaxed pace of life. We're celebrating in South Goa, which is quieter, less crowded, and home to many of the region's larger resorts.

North Goa — livelier and more touristy

• Calangute, Anjuna & Baga — lively, busy, and popular with tourists
• Candolim & Sinquerim — great restaurants, beach shacks, and nightlife

Als wir letztes Jahr Goa besucht haben, liebten wir das das entspannte Tempo, die üppige Natur und unsere langen Tage am Meer. Wir haben am strand unsere Lieblingsgerichte genossen, von Chilli Paneer bis Butter Garlic Prawns. (Vielleicht überrascht es euch, dass Tims Favorit das Chilli Paneer ist!) Schon auf dieser Reise war uns klar: Wenn wir jemals heiraten, wäre Goa der perfekte Ort dafür. Aber vor allem der schönste Ort, um die Menschen, die uns wichtig sind, aus der ganzen Welt zusammenzubringen.
Während Goa mit seinen Kokospalmen und Sandstränden für Tim ein wunderschön exotischer Ort ist, reichen Zenas Familienwurzeln bis an die Konkanküste von Mangalore zurück. Die gemeinsame Küste, Sprache, das Essen und die Traditionen lassen Goa wunderbar vertraut wirken.

Goa hat zwei Flughäfen: Dabolim (GOI) und Mopa (GOX), wobei Dabolim näher an unserer Location liegt. Taxis stehen an beiden Flughäfen ausreichend zur Verfügung und sind die wichtigste Fortbewegungsart in Goa, da es kaum öffentlichen Nahverkehr gibt. Für Komfort und Zuverlässigkeit empfehlen wir, den Transport über euer Hotel zu organisieren.

• Visum — beantragt ein E-Visa unter indianvisaonline.gov.in und druckt eine Kopie für die Einreise aus (wichtig!)
• Bargeld — die meisten Orte akzeptieren digitale Zahlungen, aber nehmt für kleinere Läden etwas Bargeld (INR) mit;
• Impfungen — informiert euch frühzeitig über die Reiseimpfempfehlungen eures Landes, da manche Impfungen Zeit brauchen, bis sie vollständig wirken

Goa ist bekannt für seine Strände, das großartige Essen und das entspannte Tempo. Wir feiern in Süd-Goa, das ruhiger, weniger überlaufen ist und viele der größeren Resorts der Region beherbergt.
